Sculptural Borosilicate

Workshop Description:
Discover the creative potential of borosilicate glass in a one-to-one session. This workshop is suitable for beginners or those with some torch experience. You will learn how to shape and sculpt glass, developing simple forms or more intricate, detailed creations. The session is flexible and tailored to your interests, allowing you to focus on techniques you want to explore or improve.

What’s Included:

  • All tools, safety equipment, and materials

  • Safety glasses

  • Your glass sculptures annealed for strength and taken home after the session

What to Wear:
Long-sleeved cotton or natural fibre clothing, closed-toe shoes, and tied-back long hair. Avoid polyester, shorts, open necklines, or open-toed sandals.

Refreshments:
Tea and coffee provided. For full-day courses, please bring your own lunch.

Receiving Your Work:
Sculptures will be annealed overnight for strength and can be taken home or posted to you after the course.

About Your Instructor:
Elena Fleury-Rojo is a British flameworker and glassblower based in Essex, UK. She specialises in natural, organic forms such as coral structures, has been awarded grants including the DYCP from Arts Council England and a training bursary from Heritage Crafts and is a Trustee of the Contemporary Glass Society.
